Feb 2000> No. 4. but they are not composed of the same substance, either in the Spirit or the Flesh.

2. As is clearly stated in the New Testament, this same Contention was had among the Sadducees and Pharisees . For all true Christians, this question was forever resolved in the Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Nonetheless, the same old argument has continued as to whether or not the Doctrine of the Resurrection can be found in the Old Testament. On this count, however, arguments for the negative were dealt a final death blow through the Scholarship of Mitchell Dahood, who was S. J., Professor of Ugaritic Language and Literature at The Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome. Dahood produced a New Translation, with Notes and Commentary on the book of Psalms, which was published in three volumes in The Anchor Bible <published by Doubleday & Company, Inc. Garden City, New York, 1966> series. His new translation was based on a better understanding of the ancient Hebrew Language and Culture, as acquired through thousands of clay tablets which were unearthed in the Archeological diggings which commenced at Ras Shamra-Ugarit in 1929. For references tothe Resurrection in Dahoods translation and commentary, see his index.
